More focus is placed on the mouthwash after using Canva’s background remover
In the ever-changing world of digital creativity, Frances Eridio tells her story through a career that spans corporate gigs and freelance work. From big names like PH1, Trizie, to Serenitea, she's dipped her toes in social media design, showcasing the power of visual storytelling.

While working for an agency, Frances still works as a freelance graphic designer, specializing in layout design, motion graphics, and PR packages. However, she is not only used to creating static designs; she dives into shoots, videos, animations, and product design, showing the dynamic side of visual arts. However, she admits that in the Philippines, where graphic design is seen as unstable, money can be tight sometimes.

Frances notes how perceptions of graphic designers have evolved. Once seen as easy, the digital era has brought more opportunities and interest, but also challenges in meeting diverse expectations and dealing with financial constraints.
“The challenge now is people can sniff [AI] out really easily nowadays…it doesn’t feel genuine anymore”
Canva’s background remover is utilized to put emphasis on the main product advertised.
For inspiration, Frances looks around her, drawing from architecture and life experiences. While some designers use AI for ideas, Frances uses it to speed up her work, especially with clients needing quick turnarounds. However, with AI’s “one-and-done” ability, she believes people can tell when AI's used, which diminishes the connection between the creator and audience. Hence, with Canva, her go-to editing software for instance, she mostly utilizes this only to remove backgrounds and expand visuals, making her designs stand out while having her creative process much more efficient.

Nonetheless, Frances values authenticity. Frances advocates for a conscious and ethical approach to AI. While the technology is here to stay, she urges fellow creators to be aware of the tools they use and discern their ethical implications. As she continues to craft her visual narratives, Frances exemplifies the balance between embracing technological advancements and preserving the authenticity that defines her artistic identity.
